How does OutX work?
OutX uses a Chrome extension that runs in your browser. The extension reads LinkedIn data using your active browser session - no passwords or cookies are shared. It fetches posts matching your keywords, tracks profiles and companies, and can automatically like or comment on relevant posts.
Do I need technical skills to use OutX?
No. OutX is designed for non-technical users. You can set up keyword watchlists, tracking rules, and auto-engagement through a point-and-click dashboard. The API is available for technical users who want deeper integrations, but it is not required.

Does it work beyond my LinkedIn connections?
Yes. OutX tracks public LinkedIn posts, not just posts from your connections. If a post is publicly visible on LinkedIn, OutX can capture it when it matches your keywords.
Can I track hashtags?
Yes. You can add hashtags as keywords in your watchlist. OutX will track posts containing those hashtags.
Can I monitor comments on posts?
Comment tracking from specific profiles is available on Expert and Ultimate plans. Post-level keyword monitoring is available on all plans. See Pricing & Subscription for plan details.
Can I filter posts by location?
Yes. Location filtering is available on Expert and Ultimate plans. You can filter posts based on the location mentioned in the post or the poster’s profile location.
How does relevance sorting work?
OutX uses AI-powered sentiment analysis to score posts by relevance to your watchlist criteria. You can sort your feed by relevance, recency, engagement level, or influence score.
Can I track keywords on Reddit too?
Yes. OutX supports Reddit tracking through the same Chrome extension. You can monitor subreddits and discussions for keywords relevant to your business. See Reddit Tracking for details.
Why use OutX when LinkedIn Sales Navigator already shows posts and job changes?
Sales Navigator surfaces a flat activity timeline on saved lists and accounts. It is useful for one-off browsing but limited as a working signal layer. OutX is built around continuous signal capture and prioritization, which Sales Navigator does not offer.Specifically:
AI-categorized posts. OutX classifies every post your watchlist captures into a buying-intent label (e.g. evaluating CRM, frustrated with current vendor, hiring a CTO). Sales Navigator shows posts in raw chronological order with no intent layer.
Filter by intent and category. OutX feeds filter by intent label, post type, language, location, seniority, trending status, keyword presence, and more. Sales Navigator gives you a date scroll and not much else.
Relevance scoring. Each post is scored 1-10 against the objective of your watchlist so the highest-signal posts surface first. Sales Navigator has no relevance score.
Comprehensive job-change capture. OutX tracks job changes, role changes, promotions, and company moves across every profile in your people watchlist, even ones you never saved as leads. Sales Navigator surfaces job changes only for leads you have explicitly saved, and miss many transitions in noisy feeds.
Beyond your network. OutX captures public posts that match your keywords from any LinkedIn user, not just people in your saved lists or 1st-degree network.
Cross-platform. OutX also tracks Reddit and exports to CSV, Slack, and the API. Sales Navigator is LinkedIn only and exports nothing without third-party scrapers.
Built for teams. OutX rolls up posts and signals across multiple Chrome extensions and team members so a single workspace can monitor far more profiles than one Sales Navigator seat can browse.
If you only want to glance at a few saved leads occasionally, Sales Navigator is fine. If you want a queryable, prioritized feed of buying-intent posts and job changes that an SDR or marketer can act on every morning, that is what OutX builds.
You create engagement rules on your watchlists. When new posts appear that match your keywords and filters, OutX automatically likes or comments on them through the Chrome extension. You control the frequency, which posts qualify, and the comment style.
Does auto-engagement work when my browser is closed?
No. The Chrome extension must be actively running in your browser for auto-engagement to work. If Chrome is closed or your computer is off, engagement pauses and resumes when you reopen Chrome. See Chrome Extension for details.
How do I change the comment tone or style?
When creating an auto-comment rule, you can customize the AI comment instructions. You can also use the gear icon in the comment modal to edit the commenting instructions. This controls the tone, length, and style of generated comments. See Auto-Engagement for setup instructions.
What are safe engagement limits?
We recommend:
Auto-likes: 1-3 per hour (maximum 5 per hour)
Auto-comments: 1-2 per hour (maximum 3 per hour)

Can I engage from a company page?
Yes. When creating an engagement rule, you can choose to engage as your personal LinkedIn profile or as a connected company page. Select the appropriate account in the “Choose Account” step.
Can I review comments before they are posted?
Auto-comments post automatically based on your rules. If you prefer to review comments before posting, use the manual AI comment feature instead - click “Suggest Me” on any post to generate a comment, edit it, and then post it yourself.

Do I need Sales Navigator for exports?
For Sales Navigator lead exports, yes - an active LinkedIn Sales Navigator subscription is required. CSV exports of watchlist posts do not require Sales Navigator.
How long do Sales Navigator exports take?
Export speed depends on the number of leads and LinkedIn’s response time. The Chrome extension must remain running during the entire export. Small exports (under 100 leads) typically complete within minutes. Larger exports may take longer.
Can I export posts as CSV?
Yes. CSV export is available on all paid plans. You can export posts from your watchlist feed with all associated data (post content, author, date, engagement metrics, labels).
OutX reads LinkedIn data through your browser session. The extension allows OutX to access LinkedIn on your behalf without requiring your password or cookies. This is the safest and most reliable method of LinkedIn automation. See Chrome Extension for full details.
What permissions does the extension need?
The extension requires access to LinkedIn (core functionality), and optionally X.com, Reddit, and Quora for cross-platform monitoring. It only reads publicly visible content on these platforms. See Chrome Extension for a detailed breakdown.
Does it work when my computer is off?
No. The Chrome extension must be running in your browser. If your computer is off or Chrome is closed, OutX cannot fetch data or perform any actions.
The extension is not working. What should I do?

How is OutX safe compared to other tools?
Unlike tools that use headless browsers, direct API scraping, or cookie theft, OutX runs inside your real Chrome browser. LinkedIn sees activity from your actual device, IP address, and session - making it indistinguishable from manual browsing. See the safety comparison for details.
What if LinkedIn gives me a warning?
Pause auto-engagement immediately, complete any verification LinkedIn requests, wait 24-48 hours, and re-enable at lower limits. See LinkedIn Safety for step-by-step instructions.
Why do I need the Chrome extension for API access?
The OutX API requires at least one team member to have the Chrome extension active within the last 48 hours. This is a security requirement that ensures your team has a valid browser session for LinkedIn data processing. See Chrome Extension for details.
What are the API rate limits?
The HTTP API itself has no rate limit. You can call OutX endpoints (watchlists, posts, interactions) as often as you want. What is capped is the LinkedIn-side work those calls trigger, like keyword scans, profile fetches, likes, and comments. LinkedIn enforces a per-action daily limit on each LinkedIn account; the live numbers are visible at Dashboard → Settings → Daily Usage Limits. Can I filter posts by date via the API?
Yes. The Posts API supports date range filtering using the posted_after and posted_before parameters. See the Posts API documentation for all available filters.
The OutX LinkedIn API is a proxy service that lets you fetch LinkedIn profiles, retrieve posts, and perform engagement actions (likes, comments) through a simple REST API. It handles LinkedIn’s complexity behind the scenes.
How is it different from the Intelligence API?
The Intelligence API (main OutX API) is for managing watchlists, retrieving tracked posts, and automating engagement within your OutX workspace. The LinkedIn API (Proxy) provides direct LinkedIn data access - fetch any profile, retrieve any user’s posts, and engage on specific posts by URL. See the LinkedIn API Introduction for details.
How does the async pattern work?
Some LinkedIn API actions (like fetching profiles or posts) are processed asynchronously. You submit a request and receive a task ID, then poll the task status endpoint to get the result. This is because LinkedIn data fetching happens through the browser extension and may take a few seconds. See the LinkedIn API Quickstart for examples.

How long is the free trial?

What are OutX Credits?
Credits are used only for Sales Navigator lead exports and the email finder. 1 credit = 1 exported lead or 1 email found. API calls do not consume credits, every API endpoint (watchlists, posts, likes, comments, profile fetches) is unlimited on every paid plan. See Pricing & Subscription for credit packages.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Email support@outx.ai from your registered email is the fastest path. You can also cancel through the Paddle billing portal at Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. On a free trial, email at least 6 hours before the trial ends so we cancel before the auto-charge runs. We are working with Paddle to support direct in-dashboard cancellation soon. Can I get a refund?
OutX does not offer partial refunds for unused time. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact support@outx.ai immediately. See Billing & Payments for the full policy.

How do I add team members?
Go to Team Settings in your dashboard and click “Invite”. Enter the team member’s email address. Team limits depend on your plan. See Account Management for details.
